apathy should take its place behind envy, gluttony and greed as the eighth deadly sin of our age, according to a survey out last week. but selfishness, hypocrisy and indifference are not far behind.listeners to BBC Radio 4's midsummer sins programme were asked to vote for the next deadly sin. apathy topped the list by a considerable margin.
