aeroflot to sue over "curse"

i guess iranians giving birth to frogs wasn't enough... now the rather "mystical" russians wish to contribute to my despair push me ever deeper into what carl sagan called the «demon-haunted world».

russian airliner aeroflot is taking legal action against a film director whose latest project features one of their planes nearly crashing after a black magic curse is put on it. let's go over this again: a fictional plane, in a film, nearly crashes as a consequence of a black magic curse put against it... sure thing... ugh.

Airline bosses have already been in touch with Russian director Timur Bekmambetov over the scenes in his new film Night Watch, demanding they be cut.

but bekmambetov told local daily vedomosti: «basically every plane in Rrssia has the word aeroflot on it. that's how it got into the movie».

aeroflot's deputy director Boris Yeliseyev confirmed: «we did not give permission for the use of our logo in this movie. we have spent a lot of energy to protect our trademark. if he doesn't take our logo out of the movie he will not avoid a court action.»

isn't anybody going to mention the airline's record? aeroflot planes have been dropping out the sky since the first one took off the ground! people fly standing up and holding on as if in a bus, amidst chicken and other assorted farm life running lose about the cabin while the fourteen-year-old sons of pilots sit on their fathers laps and have a go at the controls and fly for a bit... and they're worried aboutt heir trademark? and a curse?!
