well, i really don't know what i'd been doing wrong, but i was finally able to register my first google mail addy and begin testing the service. i had noticed my invitation a few weeks ago, and had tried to follow the easy steps to really have a go at it, always failing to complete the very last one.so far, just sweet! the idea is to forget about filing and archiving and use google's proven search technology to quickly and accurately find the needed correspondence and let the service arrange the "conversations" taking form in one's inbox so as to make it natural and brilliantly sensible and simple to keep up with our cyberspace life.
i must admit i haven't been too clever about checking for additional invitations and securing a few of what are being called, bartered, sold, given away, begged for «most desirable email addresses»...
and from the nyt: google mail: virtue lies in the inbox.
