The shame
Today, while America rightfully complains to China's visiting president regarding the terrible state of human rights in his country, we also face the news of a reactionary and shameful US House of Representatives which in its first major act voted yesterday to repeal the Democrats' health-care overhaul, fulfilling a pledge that GOP candidates made during the fall mid-term campaigns. Three spineless Democrats sided with the unified republicans in the 245 to 189 vote, considered by some as a rather symbolic step that has little chance of being considered by the Democratic-controlled Senate.In turn, republicans have vowed to dismantle and defraud the health-care reform law by all means available to them. This is nothing less than shameful and it truly disgusts me.
